Swissnex in Boston and New York
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is how full of surprises our world can be. In 2021, Swissnex in Boston and New York, together with its partners, embraced a logic of adaptability, exploration, and discovery. Through digital, hybrid, and physical realities, our experiments in connecting people and ideas took us from Boston to Ghana and Malaysia to Fiji.
Our two-week online course on science diplomacy included people from 13 different countries. Swissnex studied the impact of Covid-19 on science communication by collecting data across the US, Switzerland, and India. Our projects on biodiversity led to an op-ed in The Boston Globe and a feature story in Science magazine, and our new podcast Tectonic explored the shifting grounds between science and society. Participation in our startup camps is 60% higher than before the pandemic. We now maintain a growing community of more than 100 Swiss entrepreneurs prospecting opportunities in the US, many of which are also working with Swissnex in other countries.
As the new normal continues to blur old boundaries, the global Swissnex network is entering an age of renewed collaboration and creativity.
