Swissnex in San Francisco

For nearly two decades, Swissnex in San Francisco has acted as an agenda-setter, convener and catalyst, connecting people, ideas and ecosystems between Switzerland and the US West. The new status quo brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated both digital transformation, and the global digital divide. Today, we live in an environment marked by an increasing awareness of the need to build technology differently, and regulate it. At the same time, the urgency to slow down climate change has become ever so palpable. All of this against a backdrop referred to as the “post-truth era”, which puts our political, educational, and scientific achievements to a test.

As an organization that holds science, education and innovation at its heart and works to foster international exchange and collaboration to promote human and planetary health, we continuously adapt what we do, and how we do it. In 2021, Swissnex in San Francisco focused on honing in on our raison d’être and spelling out our “theory of change” in a rapidly evolving environment. As part of a global network, our core impact lies in empowering next-generation innovators to create futures in which our planet and societies thrive. We do so by equipping them with the necessary open mindset, interdisciplinary skillset, and global network required to contribute to systemic change. This is the mission we pursued in our 2021 activities - and we look forward to launching new impact-focused programs in 2022, in close collaboration with you.
