Swissnex in Boston and New York

Every passing year brings change to Swissnex, and 2022 was no exception. In Boston and New York, we saw the sudden return of international travel, with record numbers of visitors from Switzerland eager to finally reconnect with peers and make new friends on this side of the pond. For us, it was also a year of firsts. The Swiss-US Quantum Days, which we launched in Chicago, was the first time we had worked so closely with SERI and the Science Office of the Swiss Embassy in Washington, DC, on an issue of such strategic importance for Swiss science and industry. The conference was held in conjunction with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two countries on quantum technology. In the field of urban sustainability, on the other hand, we organized our first truly bilateral innovation program, involving not only Swiss startups but also young American companies. At Swissnex, we see a massive opportunity for Switzerland to turn such country-to-country connections into a more coordinated network of global collaborations. The “globalization” of Swissnex promises to be our next significant transformation.
