Swissnex in Brazil
In 2022, the Corona pandemic finally began to loosen its grip on the world. It was a year that saw a highly polarized run-up to Brazil’s federal elections, but which also brought unprecedented investments in startups, the rise of corporate venture capital funds, and open innovation. For Swissnex in Brazil, 2022 meant finally being able to do what we do best: bring people and communities together across borders and disciplines to encourage new ideas, connections, and projects.
Focusing on the themes of bioeconomy and the future of food, we used 2022 to learn, speak to stakeholders, and design and co-create exciting new programs that will launch in 2023. For instance, we look forward to hosting the first-ever Future of Food Startup Bootcamp in April to introduce Swiss Agrifood startups to the opportunities in the Brazilian market, enable exchanges with peers and establish a foothold in Brazil. In the Amazon, we are constructing programs with our local partners, such as the Fungi Cosmology project, which explores the kingdom of mushrooms in Brazil, Chile, and Switzerland. We are already in action mode for 2023 in what promises to be a very busy year!
