Swissnex in Japan
The newest offshoot of Swissnex has been actively connecting individuals, ideas, and ecosystems between Switzerland and Japan since 2021. Our Science Consulate prioritizes education, research, and innovation and fosters international exchange and collaboration while promoting startups, sustainability, and aging. In 2022, Swissnex worked towards establishing a physical location, building an efficient team, and launching activities. Our mission is to accelerate positive transformation at the frontiers of knowledge by equipping individuals with the necessary mindset, skillset, and network to contribute to systemic change. Swiss President Ignazio Cassis and State Secretary Martina Hirayama led the physical groundbreaking of Swissnex in Japan in 2022, followed by a delegation visit from the Swiss National Parliament. Having a Swissnex office in Japan has further strengthened the longstanding research and economic collaboration between the country and Switzerland. The newly launched Innosuisse Japan Camp saw overwhelming participation from Swiss startups in its first year.
We look forward to collaborating with our partners to launch new impact-focused programs as we move towards the World Expo 2025 in Osaka.
