Swissnex in China

Reconnecting has been the central theme at Swissnex in China throughout 2023. After more than three years of heavily restricted mobility, there was a real buzz when we welcomed the first delegations for our programmes and initiatives in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Reconnecting for us means bringing people together to spark new ideas and share meaningful insights. We enabled a cohort of international students to develop a sustainable agri-food system for Bühler. PostFinance dived into the fascinating economics of Chinese mini-apps, while Debiopharm sought partnerships among selected, high-potential oncology Chinese startups who pitched them their solutions. The University of Zürich, partnering with Chinese creatives and researchers, created an entirely new artistic exploration of the intersection between AI and biodiversity.

China has always been complex. But this complexity is offset by China’s passionate embrace for innovation and entrepreneurial speed. In 2024, Swissnex in China will introduce new themes and initiatives, ensuring that our Swiss partners stay on top of the most important trends coming out of China and that people-to-people contacts continue to thrive.
