Swissnex in Brazil

In 2024, Swissnex in Brazil engaged a record number of Swiss and Brazilian startups and researchers in programs at the intersection of biodiversity, food systems, and technology. Brazil gained renewed visibility on the global stage with its G20 presidency—a momentum set to grow even stronger in 2025 as the country assumes the BRICS presidency and prepares to host COP 30 in the Amazon. Looking ahead, we will continue along this trajectory with close partners such as the Leading House Latin America and Innosuisse.

Our flagship program, nexBio Amazônia, which fosters innovative and sustainable solutions for the Amazon’s forest-based economy, will enter its second edition. We will further support young talent in developing the skills needed to navigate the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship in the Global South. For the third consecutive year, we will also participate in Web Summit Rio, a vital entry point into Latin America for tech-driven startups. Across these platforms, Swissnex for the Planet will channel our collaboration with the rest of the Swissnex network, reinforcing our efforts to shape a sustainable future through science and technology.
