Swissnex in Japan

Swissnex in Japan is entering its second year after its Grand Opening on 30 September 2023. In 2024, we celebrate 160 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Japan, an important milestone that unlocked new opportunities for collaboration.

Building on this momentum, we launched the Swiss-Japan Energy Days, fostering dialogue on energy transition and sustainability. Meanwhile, Swiss startups' participation in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, BioJapan 2024 and first pitching roadshow through 4 cities Kyoto, Osaka, Yokohama and Tokyo further demonstrated our commitment to supporting innovation.

As we move forward, Swissnex in Japan will continue to deepen systemic collaborations in key areas such as energy, AI, and robotics, driving impactful innovation. We continue to strengthen the connections between our core thematic areas—aging, sustainability, and startups—while actively preparing for Switzerland’s presence at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

As Japan’s first Science Consulate, we remain committed to fostering excellence in education, research, and innovation, working closely with the global Swissnex network to further Switzerland’s profile as a leading innovation hub.
