Expedition AI 3.0 – flight plan for artificial intelligence in practice

Artificial intelligence will significantly simplify our working lives in the future. The possibilities that AI already offers and how AI projects are being implemented in practice were presented at the third edition of the ‘Expedition AI 3.0’ Congress at the Vienna Airport Conference & Innovation Center. The two-day symposium offered more than 800 guests and more than 200 companies from the entire Germany-Austria-Switzerland region and a wide range of sectors an intensive exploration of the topic of artificial intelligence.

With exciting keynotes and workshops, the event offered a perfect platform for those interested in AI and users to exchange ideas. The congress enabled institutions, companies and research organisations to engage in in-depth discussions on the application of artificial intelligence. Switzerland was once again a key player in this exchange this year, having been a partner country in 2023 already. Switzerland Gobal Enterprise – represented by the Swiss Business Hub Germany and the Swiss Business Hub Austria – and Swissnex cooperated for the Swiss presence in 2024, and represented Switzerland jointly with institutions from the Swiss innovation ecosystem such as Technopark Zurich and the AI Center of ETH Zurich and the Swiss AI start-up Egonym.

In opening remarks, Ambassador Salome Meyer provided insights into Switzerland's AI strategies and emphasised the importance of research and cross-border cooperation in strengthening Europe's innovative capacity. Joint research and cross-border cooperation between organisations and companies are of central importance for Europe to catch up in terms of innovative strength and to take a leading position in the AI industry in the long term. The aim of the conference was to offer companies the opportunity to learn more about existing and future applications of artificial intelligence in various industries and to network with key players.

Künstliche Intelligenz wird in Zukunft den Arbeitsalltag deutlich erleichtern – welche Möglichkeiten KI jetzt schon bietet und wie KI-Projekte in der Praxis umgesetzt werden, wurde bei der dritten Ausgabe des Kongresses „Expedition KI 3.0“ im Vienna Airport Conference & Innovation Center vorgestellt. Das zweitägige Fachsymposium bot mehr als 800 Gästen und mehr als 200 Unternehmen des gesamten DACH-Raums aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Künstliche Intelligenz.

Mit spannenden Keynotes und Workshops bot der Event KI-Interessierten und Anwendern eine perfekte Plattform, sich auszutauschen. Der Kongress ermöglichte Institutionen, Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen tiefgreifende Diskussionen zur Anwendung der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Die Schweiz war auch dieses Jahr ein wichtiger Akteur in diesem Austausch, nachdem sie 2023 schon Partnerland war. In einem Grusswort gab Botschafterin Salome Meyer Einblicke in die KI-Strategien der Schweiz und betonte die Bedeutung von Forschung und grenzüberschreitender Zusammenarbeit, um die Innovationskraft Europas zu stärken. Die gemeinsame Forschung sowie die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit von Organisationen und Unternehmen sind für Europa von zentraler Bedeutung, um in Sachen Innovationstärke aufzuholen und langfristig eine führende Position in der KI-Branche einzunehmen. Das Ziel der Konferenz bestand darin, Unternehmen die Möglichkeit zu bieten, sich intensiv über bereits realisierte und zukünftige Anwendungsfälle von Künstlicher Intelligenz in unterschiedlichen Branchen zu informieren und Akteure zu vernetzen.
