Future Hospital vol.4: Sino-Swiss Cooperation in Oncology Research

Under the framework of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland China, the Science, Technology and Education Section of the Swiss Embassy in China and Swissnex in China celebrated this momentum by hosting the 4th edition of the Future Hospital event series at the Swiss Residence in Beijing.

The Future Hospital event series is an initiative of Swissnex in China, bringing together experts from Switzerland and China for interdisciplinary discussions on the future of health. The fourth edition focused on collaboration in oncology research and the future of cancer prevention, identification and treatment. This event was particularly significant as it celebrated 30 years of partnership between USI Università della Svizzera italiana Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) and prominent hospitals and medical universities throughout China.

Chinese and Swiss experts during the event expressed commitment to deepen exchange and collaboration, particularly supporting exchange between young researchers. Such collaboration is mutually beneficial and will collectively contribute to the global fight against cancer – where collaboration is no longer optional.

Since 2012, the World Oncology Forum, chaired by Dr. Franco CAVALLI from IOR, has been taking place in Switzerland, thus making Switzerland an important hub for global discussion on the accessibility of cancer care and on the urgent actions needed in cancer prevention and treatment.
