Swiss Alumni Event 2024
On 8 October 2024, the Swiss Embassy, in collaboration with UBS Singapore and Vitra, hosted the second edition of the Swiss Alumni Evening, bringing together over 160 alumni from Swiss universities and scholarship programs. This year also lends itself to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the funding of the now-closed Swissnex in Singapore.
The evening opened with a welcome from Michelle Yeo, COO of UBS Singapore, and Robert Rohner, Business Sector Head for Southeast Asia/Philippines, followed by Deputy Head of Mission Regula Kurzbein’s remarks on the growing collaboration between Swiss universities and Singapore. The main program featured a keynote by Raphael Gielgen from Vitra, which focused on the future of the workplace and provided thought-provoking insights.
Alumni from institutions such as the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich), Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne), International Institute for Management Development (IMD), University of St.Gallen (HSG), and the University of Zurich (UZH) attended, alongside former scholars from A*STAR, the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships, and ThinkSwiss Scholarships. Their presence underscored the strength and diversity of Swiss education.
The evening concluded with a networking dinner, further fostering connections within the alumni community.
