Swiss-French Higher Education Day

On October 6, 2023, the Embassy of Switzerland in France hosted a conference gathering numerous representatives from Swiss and French Universities, aiming at fostering further cooperation and student exchanges. A particular emphasis was placed on the challenges posed by digitalization and green transition, calling for new skills at all levels.

The Ambassador of Switzerland to France Roberto Balzaretti opened the one-day event by highlighting the very strong ties in education and research between Switzerland and France. Two round tables followed: the first on collaboration between Swiss and French institutions in the era of the European Universities Alliances, and the second on developing new business skills in the context of digital and ecological transitions.

This conference was organized with the support of Movetia and Campus France, the Swiss and French national agencies promoting student mobility. The fruitful exchanges lead to the signing of a letter of intent between the two agencies five weeks later, on November 16, 2023 in Bern, in the presence of the Swiss and French presidents Alain Berset and Emmanuel Macron.
