Swiss Presence at Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) 2025

Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) is Singapore’s flagship innovation conference, organised by Enterprise Singapore together with government partners. It brings together startups, corporates, investors, researchers, and policymakers from around the world to showcase emerging technologies, enable partnerships, and discuss innovation driven growth across deep tech, sustainability, health, and digital sectors.

SWITCH 2025 marked the strongest Swiss presence to date at the conference, reflecting growing interest from Swiss innovation, research, and venture actors in engaging with Singapore’s ecosystem. The Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore with its Science Counselor supported the participation of several Swiss organisations and helped facilitate visibility, connections, and targeted exchanges throughout the week.

Ahead of SWITCH, the Embassy with Swissnex support organised a joint Swiss-Austrian networking evening together with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and the Global Incubator Network Austria. The event brought together startups, investors, and ecosystem partners from Europe and Asia and served as a practical starting point for meetings and follow up discussions during the conference. During SWITCH, Ambassador Frank Grütter witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ACE.SG and Innovaud, the innovation agency of the Canton of Vaud. The signing took place at the official opening of Stage One at JTC’s LaunchPad at one north, in the presence of Guest of Honour Tan See Leng. The agreement establishes a framework to support startup exchange, market access, and collaboration between the Swiss and Singaporean innovation ecosystems. (Linkedin Post with Video: Link)

Swiss deep tech actors were also prominently featured. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong highlighted the decision of Swiss based QAI Ventures to open an office in Singapore during his opening speech. Ambassador Frank Grütter and Deputy Head of Mission Regula Kurzbein visited QAI Ventures at SWITCH, underlining Switzerland’s engagement in quantum technologies and venture building across Europe and Asia. The Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission also visited the Singapore ETH Centre booth, where Prof. Manu Kapur and his team presented applied research projects ranging from digital twins and urban cooling to health technologies and rehabilitation robotics. Together, these activities demonstrated the growing scale of Swiss participation at SWITCH and the close, practice oriented innovation links between Switzerland and Singapore.
