Swiss presence at Study in Europe Fair 2021 in Singapore
The annual European Union’s flagship higher education fair in Singapore was again held online on the 25th of September. 21 European countries, with 250 participating universities held more than 30 online webinars and could register more than 15’000 prospective students across the whole ASEAN region. The Swiss presence had three offerings for the many participants.
First, the Deputy Head of Mission Nikolas Stürchler helped convince the hesitants with the video “Five reasons to study in Switzerland”, why you really should consider studying in Switzerland. Secondly, on the “Study in Europe”-website 8 participating Swiss universities provided for the interested parties the information needed for their respective institution.
Lastly, the Embassy’s Science Counselor – Joël Henri Brunner - together with representatives of the École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), ETH Zürich and the University of St.Gallen hosted the webinar “Study in Switzerland”. The webinar attracted more than 400 sign-ups, thanks to a far-reaching social media campaign via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in Singapore and the region. The presentation itself contained a quick overview of Switzerland as a study destination, followed by three break-out rooms for each institution with a chance to ask all questions a student might have. The materials are now permanently up on the Study in Europe-website.
