Swiss Tech Tour - June 2023

Together with Presence Switzerland and the Swiss Business Hub in Milan, the Swiss Embassy in Rome organized a Swiss Tech Tour for Italian journalists and professionals in the Life sciences sector including Technology transfer and patent offices’ directors, technology and science journalists, members of Human Technopole of Milan and representatives of regional business associations.

The participants had the occasion to have exchanges with EPFL, CSEM Neuchatel, Novartis, Basel Area Business and Innovation, Innovation Park Zurich, Bios+ in Bellinzona, USI and SUPSI in Lugano.

There were lively debates and genuine exchanges between the participants and members of the Swiss research and innovation institutions. Both sides were extremely interested and excited with the prospect of strengthening the exchange of knowledge and increasing cooperation between Switzerland and Italy.

The Tech Tour created significant visibility for Switzerland’s research and innovation ecosystem as well as Swiss-Italian cooperation, both on social media and in the press. Three articles were published in Italian news outlets as a direct result of the Tech Tour, including an article in Sole 24 Ore covering the Bellinzona ecosystem.

As such, the well-established networks between Switzerland and Italy in the fields of ERI have been further strengthened, creating an important basis for continued cooperation between the two countries.
